petosa extravaganza what people had to say... Just to say that the 2005 Petosa Extravaganza video was outstanding. Each
performer's expertise was impressive in their individual styles and proficiency,
and Dick Contino's style is truly uniquely impressive and inimitable. He
is so full of vitality to produce the amount of exertion required in his
many and varied renditions. It is a lot more than showmanship. His performance
was incredulous, with all due respect to the other performers, as well,
who were spectacular. Lillian Monte Hi Joe. Whatta show! What a wonderful musical experience!! What
an outstanding Accordion Extravaganza!!! And all to honor your father
on reaching the stature of an octogenarian. Richly
deserved. The Extravaganza was well-planned and obviously lived up to its pre-event
billing,
attracting a full house. Tony Lovello was the perfect opener and set the
stage for the Petosa professionals who followed. Great mix of talent. Exceptional
pacing. Pete Barbutti was the consummate emcee. A very funny man. And
then, Dick Contino provided the sensational show-stopping closing. Wow! I
have never, in my 50 years of playing Petosa, seen such an assemblage
of incredible
talent on one stage. Kudos to you, Joe, for all of your hard work. Now,
I hope we don't have to wait for your father to turn 90 to do
it again? My very best, Hi, Joe Your ACCORDION
EXTRAVAGANZA video is simply fantastic,
Frieda and I enjoyed so much. The array of oustanding performers
is the best around. How did you ever put this together, what a great
tribute to your father, he sure was well deserving of such an event.. Must say that we enjoyed Pete Barbutti so much had to watch him
several times, not to take anything away from the other talent , but
his was so humorus and refreshing.. Don't know if you ever new how
I met up with your dad. It was about 1971 or 72 when he and
another gentleman came to our house in Spokane and he talked
me into buying his accordion [IORIO] will never forget, and from
then on our friendship just grew into what it is with PETOSA today..
Can/t believe thats 33 years ago.. Pete Barbutti introduced
Dick Contino as Mr. Accordion , I think that title
fits you PETOSA better.... Just had to
add my two cents worth.. Again thanks for all your help...... LOVE
and best of friends Dear Mr. Petoza, Sons and Family, We just want to express our appreciation
for being invited
to the recent Extravaganza. It was truly a special event. We want
to add our birthday wishes for Mr. Petosa and pray that he recovers his health
completely. The event was so well planned an executed that we were quite
amazed. The sound systems all functioned without a hitch, which seems
unusual for the number of participants. The different styles and techniques
coupled with a variety of accordion capabilities provided a new appreciation
for the
accordion as an instrument. The performing artists were outstanding as
well as the special guest artists. It brought an appreciation for the
variety of special talents expressed through the accordion. Pete Barbutti
provided just the right element for introducing the performers and adding a
gifted sense of humor. Thank
you again for the opportunity of attending, Carl and Pat Nielsen Joe Jr. Dennis and I would like to thank you personally for the
wonderful accordion concert you put on for your
father. We are sorry he could not be there to enjoy the
concert, but he can watch it on DVD. Please
give him our best Dennis and Judy Cervetto Hedberg Hello, I am writing to thank you for an incredible day, May 8th. It was

Hi Joe:
Just wanted to drop you line and thank you once again for the opportunity
to attend the wonderful concert event on Sunday. It was an event that
the likes of will probably never be seen again. I was so sorry to hear
that your father was unable to attend. Hopefully he will be able to
enjoy the video when it is available. I am certain he would have been
most proud of the culmination of his and your accomplishments over
the years and particularly the great artists who performed that choose
to play Petosa accordions.
I must confess the Canadian contingent were all a bit sad to leave
on Sun evening knowing the accordion event of a lifetime was over.
We felt as though we were leaving behind very special friendships and
exceptional talent in the accordion world that for the most part will
never be duplicated.
Talk to you soon Joe!
Best Regards, Gordon
Joe....
Thank you very much for the invation to your Dad's birthday celebraton.
I have never witnessed so much great talent in one place at. 5 1/2
hours of exceptional Accordion music by the greatest musicians in the
world. If this were to happen again I would be the first to sign up.
Carol and I wish to extend happy birthday and our best to your Dad.
Thank you again.
