BIOGRAPHY I started taking accordion lessons at Frank & Delores Studios, Carmichael, California in 1958 at the age of 6. In 1960 I won 1st place in the qualified solo division for my age group in the Northern California Accordion Association competition. That was the first of many trophies both as a soloist and as part of groups and bands, culminating in winning the Senior Jazz Championship in 1970. I began playing gigs throughout the Sacramento area to include several television appearances. I graduated from Brigham Young University with a minor in music in 1977 and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army. Throughout my Army career I played gigs and taught accordion students wherever I was stationed. |

In 1992 I bought my first MIDI accordion and expanded my capability to having rhythm and other instrument accompaniment. In 1995 I heard Chuck Berger perform at the San Antonio Accordion Club and knew I had to have that instrument. I now play the Petosa AM 1100 MIDI accordion with the "Big Band" sound of Chuck's programming. I have recently retired for the second time from the US Army and now reside in Vancouver, WA, across the river from Portland, OR. I teach and perform with my MIDI accordion or strolling acoustically (or more typically both) either alone or accompanied by my wife as vocalist. I play big band, swing, jazz, standards, dance music, Italian, German, French, western, country, Dixieland, Latin, and Christmas music. I specialize in custom tailoring the music to create the specific ambiance you request. Let me make your next event the most IN2N (in tune) ever. Larry K McCullough & IN2N |
